Models get to wear some of our favorite labels, get dressed by the top stylists and meet some of the best makeup artists in the business. It’s no surprise they have picked up a thing or two on how to dress amazingly off duty. Take a hint from some of the best models in the business and nail the effortlessly chic look.
MAKEUP AND HAIR
When most models are snapped off duty they are either in full makeup and hair post fashion show (which sometimes is a little out there) or looking dewy and natural pre-show. We will be going for the latter- a much more wearable look.
To get the modelesque fresh dewy skin, start with a dewy and light foundation like this or use a tinted moisturizer. Apply a thin layer only where necessary and put some foundation under your eyes and on blemishes. If your skin tends to get oily, dust just a bit of translucent powder in your t-zone. If you want some color dab a tinted blusher onto your cheeks.
Get your eyebrows to look full and youthful a la Bambi with some eyebrow powder. Eyeliner isn’t necessary but if you want some definition line your lash line’s inner rim with a deep brown. Curl your eyelashes and brush on a lengthening mascara.
Keep your hair natural and stay away from flat irons and curling tools. If you need something to tame it add some defrizzing cream or serum to it.
OFF DUTY STYLE
The key to the off duty style is to look effortless. Wear something that you feel comfortable in and that you know looks great on you. If you don’t like a trend or think a tip below won’t work for you, find something else that makes you feel comfortable and confident!
LAYERING: In the rule book of models it must be a requirement to know how to layer amazingly. Start with thicker cotton layers in neutral colors first. Add on loose layers in the same color palette and finish off with a structured jacket if it’s chilly or a colored scarf for a pop of color. For a more stylish look mix up fabrics like leather with canvas or plaid. Since we’re focusing on the layers on top keep things more fitted on the bottom.
